Engineer / PQ Supplier Quality Representative
Duties &
Responsibilities:
Work with suppliers on developing their operational characteristics and new model parts through a proactive approach
Work with other HMA departments to communicate new part status through the new model development process
Understand how part quality new model impacts the vehicle and market
Prompt analysis of part problems and countermeasures through the New Model Process
Develop new model parts through a proactive approach with suppliers
Support and follow up with various departments on new model quality development
Part inspection and analysis during supplier build events
Prepare technical reports and presentations
Travel to suppliers and audit their systems and/or countermeasures on planned visits or short notice
Daily Tasks Performed:
Event problem analysis
Review of systematic and process information from supplier
Review of supplier documentation
Review of part problem history
Auditing
Inter-department and outside project communication
Minimum Job Relevant Knowledge:
Understand the basic function of automobile parts
Basic knowledge of automotive parts and related processes
Understand how to develop PFMEA, PQCT, and Operation Standards
Understand how to read and analyze drawings and specifications
Problem solving, presentation and technical writing skills
Good communication skills (verbal and non-verbal)
Process auditing skills
Knowledge and use of various Quality Assurance Tools
Minimum Job Relevant
Experience:
Hands-on manufacturing environment (2-5 years)
Degree / Certification Required:
Bachelors Degree of Science in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or relevant work experience in quality
Required Skills:
Procedure / technical writing background (ability to write clear, concise technical reports)
Advanced knowledge of blueprints and CATIA
Advanced knowledge of automotive parts and how they interact with the complete body
Exceptional computer skills (Catia, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Knowledge and the use of Quality Assurance tools and techniques
Internal auditing
Desired Skills & Abilities:
Background in developing and communicating to suppliers
Advanced knowledge of new model development
Subject matter expert in Plastic Injection Molding process
Additional Work Factors:
Environment candidates will be working in: Office / Manufacturing floor, production
Estimated amount of overtime (hrs/wk): 4-6 hours/week
Frequency, average duration of travel: 3-4 trips/month (few days each trip)
