Technical Service Representative

Attention Paint & Body Shop Professionals and Automotive Coatings Experts! A Fortune 200 company, PPG Industries is seeking a talented individual for a Technical Service Representative I (TSR) position located in Lincoln, AL! Good written and oral communication skills.
Waterborne, Solventbornet, Powder, and Electrocoat technology experience preferred.
Strong computer skills, analytical skills, and attention to detail are required.
Shift 7am -4pm + Call Pay $16-19/hrThe TSR has the primary responsibility for providing technical service and counsel to our customers regarding the operation of their paint lines.
Sales and customer satisfaction is the key to success in this role as the TSR will provide an extremely thorough analysis of the problem before recommending a course of action.
Customers hold the Technical Service Representative accountable for providing a product that performs well within their paint finishing operations.
The TSR is looked upon to provide the customer with a product and technical know how to make sure PPG coatings outperform competitive coatings in the area of first run capability, reject rates, surface finish, and ease of use (workability/robustness).
The Technical Service Representative is also accountable for producing parts with a high quality finish at low reject rates and is therefore expected to implement solutions to customer production problems.
The TSR must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
You must also have an unselfish work ethic, a strong sense of self-accomplishment, and have strong problem solving and communication skills.
The Technical Service Representative is called upon to both resolve a crisis and to implement corrective action which prevents the crisis from recurring.
Resolving a crisis frequently requires the TSR to be available on very short notice and at inconvenient times essentially whenever the customer needs assistance.
A customer with 2nd and 3rd shift operations often requires the TSR to be on call.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interact with both internal and external customers.
- Establish and monitor Inventory requirements and issue reports - Monitor all daily plant Quality Operating Systems and compile trend reports to present to the customer and management.
- Assist in troubleshooting activity for problem resolution for all quality, cost, maintenance and other diagnostic opportunities.
- Provide accurate Technical information on all product lines - Provide timely resolution to customer s concerns, and quick troubleshooting of coatings problems.
- Exceptional telephone service and direct communication skills-Good time management, accuracy, attention to details, and organizational skills are imperative.
Minimum Requirements:
- Verifiable High School Diploma/ GED.
Bachelor-s Degree preferred.
